Join us in our very special land of giant experiences – in culture, landscape, legends, cities, dramatic coast and, of course, in our food.
You will find us in Castlerock, one of the many hidden gems on this part of the glorious North Coast. Midway between the world famous Giant’s Causeway and historic Derry/Londonderry and then onwards to the Wild Atlantic Way, Castlerock is a small but popular seaside village, with a stunning seascape, clean sandy beaches, hills, moors and forests all in the immediate area. There are plenty of man-made treasures to find nearby too, including the unique Mussenden Temple, built in 1785 and perched dramatically on a 120ft clifftop. It was once a library for Frederick Augustus Hervey, Bishop of Derry and Earl of Bristol, and inspired by the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli, near Rome. The ruins of his grand house are a short walk from the temple, and our premises.
We are a founding member of Taste Causeway, so if unique and unforgettable foodie experiences are for you, you are spoiled for choice. In Castlerock alone you will find fellow members, Braemar Farm Ice Cream, Mussenden Sea Salt and Meatbox. We are in excellent company, with Broighter Gold, Broughgammon Farm, The Bushmills Inn, Causeway Coast Foodie Tours, Bushmills Distillery, Glens of Antrim, Corndale Farm, Glenballyeamon Eggs, Irish Feast Tours, Islander Kelp, Lacada Brewery, Morelli’s Ice Cream, North Coast Smokehouse, Ocho Tapas Bistro, Tartine at the Distillers Arms and Blackrock House B&B all joining us in welcoming you to our flavourful corner of the world.
We are on the edge of Game of Thrones country, with many of the iconic filming locations nearby: Sallagh Braes, Cushendun Caves, the Dark Hedges, Ballintoy Harbour and, on our doorstep, Downhill Strand and the high uplands of Binevenagh.
Castlerock is so easy to get to. We are an hour and a half by road from Belfast and the port of Larne, there are three regional airports (including City of Derry, just up the road). You can reach Castlerock by train too: it is on the Derry/Londonderry line, often cited as one of the world’s most picturesque railway journeys.
Castlerock has so much to offer in itself or as a base for exploring a wonderfully diverse range of experiences in the immediate area. We look forward to welcoming you and awakening all your senses.
